The leadership team from the Hellenic Community asked and Steve answered. After a two-year retirement, Steve is excited to return as Executive Producer of the upcoming Gold Plate Dinner on June 13, 2017. This annual fundraising gala, one of the largest signature events in Ottawa, will raise money for the Queensway Carleton Hospital ACUTE Care for the Elderly Unit and the Hellenic Community of Ottawa’s cultural and religious programs.

As Executive Producer of the event, Steve is responsible for all event logistics including design, food and beverage and production while managing a team of over 100 professional staff and volunteers. Between 2010 and 2015, the Dinner raised over $1.5 million for charity.

According to local Ottawa media personality Stuntman Stu, “Steve has taken a successful community-based event and turned it into something people talk about all year long.”  A who’s who of community movers and shakers attend the event each year. This year’s dinner is sure to dazzle, with its sumptuous four-course Greek gourmet feast and stunning 7200 sq. ft. carpeted and air conditioned tent where Ottawa’s business elite will network and shmooze in true Hollywood style.

Attendees are in for a night of fabulous entertainment. A pre-dinner cocktail party offers hob-nobbing and the opportunity to interact and connect with hundreds of local business leaders. An amazing set change during dinner transforms the tent into a sleek and sophisticated jazz club for a distinctive after-party sure to be the talk of the town.
