Off the top of your head what was the last advertising campaign you remembered? How serious was the brand impact, in your mind’s eye?
I’m not talking about the campaigns using a distinctive colour logo that is plastered on every sign on every corner that you are forced to remember OR a quirky animal on a television ad who jokes in a weird accent. Yes, those count as brand impact points- but it’s the lazy man’s brand impact. I’m talking about the unconventional or unique advertisements that make you stop and think, “Wow, now that’s cool, I want that!”
Today’s trendy advertising ideas force ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking, while not forgetting the marketing’s intent. The unconventional direction advertising is heading in our society today is not only entertaining and pertinent but can also be considered a new form of art.
